Gamma Xi Boulé Foundation awards 3 college scholarships
The Gamma Xi Boulé Foundation awarded scholarships to three outstanding local area high school graduates at its annual scholarship ceremony on May 25 at the Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Library. This year’s ceremony marks the first awards from scholarships funded by Gamma Xi Boulé member Donald R. Reaves and his wife, Deborah R. Reaves, and Gamma Xi Boulé member Robert L. Wood and his wife, Angelia D. Wood.
Zhameera Fuller will receive $4,000 per year for the next four years from the Donald J. and Deborah J. Reaves Scholarship. Fuller, a 2019 Booker High School graduate, plans to study child psychology when she enrolls at the University of North Florida in the fall.
Marc Brunot is a 2017 graduate of Bayshore High School. He earned a $4,000 annual Matthew Carter Scholarship in 2017. The Gamma Xi Boulé Foundation created the Matthew Carter Scholarship to honor Matthew Carter, who was a charter member of Gamma Xi Boulé. Brunot will begin his junior year as a business major at Florida Gulf Coast University in the fall.
Maicy Powell will receive $4,000 per year for the next four years from the Robert L. and Angelia D. Wood Scholarship. Powell graduated from Booker High School in May and she will matriculate in the fall at Howard University as a business administration major.
The Gamma Xi Boulé Foundation has awarded approximately $65,000 in scholarships to outstanding high school graduates since 2001.
